Craving for Momos | Hidden gem in South Delhi

Lockdown has caused boredom due to the monotonous eating schedule and left us craving for the Indian street food. Being a Delhite, momos are something unforgettable. Recently ordered food from Hooked On Momos, main reason being momos obviously. It is a delivery outlet based in Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi which specializes in serving Chinese food.

Steamed Chicken Momos– Ordered for steam Chicken momos. Chilli sauce was served as a condiment which was very spicy and delectable.

Chicken Afghani Tandoori Momos – These momos were stuffed with minced Chicken, marinated in hung curd and cream then roasted in tandoor. This was served with Chilli Sauce and mint chutney along with mayonnaise. An absolute MUST TRY!!

Chilli Paneer Dry – Fried cottage cheese tossed with capsicum, onion & chilli paste, finished with spring onion. It has 8 big chunks of paneer. This was almost stale otherwise it would have been delicious.

Hakka Noodles – Stir fried Chinese Hakka Noodles topped with capsicum, onion and cottage cheese, finished with some black pepper Noodles were fresh but these cannot be eaten on its own. You will need some appetizer or curry along with it as it lacked flavour.

Must place to try Best Sushi in Delhi

I have been at Honk, Pullman Hotel, New Delhi few times now. They have recently launched their Yum Cha Daily Lunches wherein you can feast over 22 different kinds of steamed, pan-fried and baked dimsums along with soups, salads and a meal in a bowl. Chicken & Chive pan-fried dimsum and Eggplant Puff with sweet chili and garlic are highly recommended. Apart this delish feast, they also serve premium Asian teas and beverages like shochu, sake and umeshu. The best way to conclude the meal is with their special homemade gelatos.

Also been to Honk for dinner and everything was absolutely delicious. Started with Larb Gai salad which was bursting with flavours. Also Tuna Pizza was tasty.

Tried their dimsums and sushi as well. Red Dragon Sushi, Fire ball Sushi and Kaibashira Sushi were yum. Also tried Lobster dumplings with black truffle caviar dumpling, Black pepper chicken dumpling and the best one was Laksa Crab and Prawn dumpling – MUST TRY!! Honk is, no doubt, the best place I have had the best sushi in New Delhi.

For mail course had ‘Honk’s own’ spicy Prawns, Lamb black pepper, Garlic and Chives Fried rice and Vegetable Hakka Noodles.

All the desserts we tried were made to perfection:

Wasabi Cheesecake – This was so unusual yet awesome.

Fried cinnamon banana with white sesame jaggery fudge – Simply loved this one.

Trio ice-cream (Coconut & Kaffir Lime, Honey, Avocado) – Avocado ice-cream was the best!!

Sushis and Dimsums

Ah So Yum is an amazing Asian restaurant. They specialise in serving yummy Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Sushi and Malaysian dishes. I got the food delivered for dinner and must say it was fabulous.

Prawn Yellow Curry Dimsum – I love prawns and had to try this for sure. About 6 pieces were served in this.

Rock Shrimp Tempura Sushi – 8 pieces were served. Sushi had Prawn Tempura, Fresh Cucumber, Togarashi Mayo and Tanuki. This was flavourful and prawns had great crunch. MUST TRY!!

Honey Chilli Mustard Fish – This was super delicious and my Mom loved this. Also the quantity was great!

Chilli Chicken Dimsum – This was my favourite! Dimsum was stuffed with chicken and was laid on chilli sauce. MUST TRY!!

2

Molten Chocolate Dimsum – A perfect ending to this meal. These charcoal dimsums were filled with gooey dark chocolate and loads of crushed cashewnuts.

I am surely going to try more dishes from here.
