Healthy Food to eat this Christmas 2023

Christmas Eve

Christmas, a major festival commemorating the birth of Jesus, is celebrated across the globe. Among grand cheers and bubbly beats, Christmas Eve is celebrated on 24th December, a day before Christmas day. It is a conspicuous day with significant anticipation of Christmas Day.

The sounds of Christmas carols, smell of bakes, laughter of family gathering, illumination of decorated Christmas trees, hanging mistletoes and ringing of bells bring out the feeling of festivity this time of the year.

3

Free yourself this Christmas from guilty food

  • Turkey could be swapped with roasted beef or ham. Oven-roasted turkey contains 135 calories per ounce whereas roasted beef contains 76 calories per ounce and roasted ham contains 30 calories per ounce.
  • 1 cup of homemade mashed potatoes, prepared with butter and whole milk, contains about 240 calories. This can be replaced with roasted sweet potatoes containing only 29 calories. If you roast them twice, it becomes crispy on the outside and super-creamy on the inside that melts in the mouth.
  • Instead of serving a bowl of stir-fried vegetable, opt for boiled ones. A colorful bowl of steam mixed vegetable is not just brimming with vitamins and minerals, it is reduced to just 45 calories whereas stir fried vegetables are at a whopping 200 calories per bowl.
  • Christmas doesn’t feel like Christmas if the meal doesn’t end with a Christmas cake. Healthify your sugarless Christmas cake with loads of dates, prunes, cranberries, raisins, currants and somea dried apricots and blueberries. These fruits substitute the craving for sugar. Add omega-3 rich walnuts to impart a delicious crunch in every bite.

So, it’s Merry Christmas! Bon Appetit.

Featured

While conveniently located near Sydney’s Central Business District, the Ovolo Hotel Woolloomooloo provides a tranquil waterfront experience being at the Wharf. Ovolo is a luxury boutique hotel, providing exquisite rooms and exceptional loft suites.

This property is both a heritage and modern luxury, the Woolloomooloo Wharf offers a wealth of historical features that are matched by cutting-edge features and modern design. All while relaxing in your roomy residence with a view of stunning Sydney Harbour.

It is in the ideal location because it is close to Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens and we visited the Sydney Opera House, stunning parklands and The Rocks.

Ovolo Woolloomooloo has incredible 5-star amenities like their own indoor swimming pool with poolside cabanas, meeting rooms and event spaces, bar and dining at Alibi, 24-hour gym and the most important part- it’s a Pet-friendly accommodation! I am surely taking my pet greyhound on my next Staycation with Ovolo 😊

We stayed in Ovolo’s Cityvoo Loft Suite. Their rooms are comfortable and spacious! The suite was loft style: downstairs was the living room with electric blinds accessing to Sydney City skyline views (plus a separate powder room, dining area and mini bar) and upstairs was the king size ensuite bedroom.

This awesome suite included continental breakfast, mini bar, in-room snacks, wifi, daily social hour, national calls, indoor pool, gym, self-laundry and all this was FREE!! They also have unlimited free candy cart at the property. This was my first experience where the suite had a Yoga Mat for guests to takeaway to their homes! They surely know how to pamper their guests.

Since it was my Mother’s Birthday, they surprised us with complementary Champagne and Cake. Could not have chosen a place to celebrate than Ovolo Hotels 😊 Their room service was speedy and spot on! Also devoured the complementary breakfast at Alibi, it is a vegan restaurant and has wide range of options. Also, their Vegan Cheeseburger tastes like the real cheeseburger, Yumm!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Staycation with Ovolo Hotel and looking forward for more of these in future 😊

International Yoga Day 2023

Featured

I always thought Yoga is another fancy word in the world of fitness which made me quite skeptical if Yoga will be of any advantage to me but since it was being promoted on a regular basis, it increased my curiosity to atleast try one session of Yoga. I am glad I did that since I felt refreshed.

2 Padmasana PoseIMG_8975IMG_8970

Over the years, Yoga has helped my body in gaining flexibility, building strength, being stress-free, energetic and remain fit. Thereafter, I also tried Aerial Yoga which demanded greater control over body. It increases full-body flexibility and strength. The hammock itself allows you to go deeper into the stretches and poses, further enhancing full-body flexibility #AerialYoga. This might look easy but was very difficult.

Realizing all the benefits, I encouraged my Mom also to start practicing Yoga. This International Yoga Day, I would like every individual to attend Yoga sessions and practice the same.

International Tea Day 2023

Featured

Tea is not just a drink, but it holds love, culture and life. It is something that connects all of us in one single bond. In India, tea is something that starts your day, keeps you moving during the day, refreshes you in the evening and finally de-stress you after a long tiring day. Over a cup of tea we discuss everything on the globe. Relations are bonded forever over a cup of tea, the most important decisions are taken over a cup of tea and much more.

Just take some time out after you read this article over a cup of tea and imagine the hard work that has gone behind getting this charismatic drink in a cup to your hand. Take a sip and imagine the workers spending hours and month to carefully nurture the plantations, carefully plucked each leaf and done everything to give you this magical moment. Take a pick on this International Tea Day, to understand what the tea workers deliver to us, what is more than a drink to us.

Featured

Naad Wellness is a holistic wellbeing center located in Sonipat, proximity to Delhi NCR. Naad Wellness is rooted in the ancient principles of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, they provide therapies and services restore balance to five senses and help tune into a sound you.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 days stay at this beautiful yet relaxing property. I also tried Aerial Yoga for the first time at Naad Wellness. It increases full-body flexibility and strength. The hammock itself allows you to go deeper into the stretches and poses, further enhancing full-body flexibility #AerialYoga. This might look easy but was very difficult and would not have been possible without the experts at Naad.

We did yoga, meditation and various therapies like Abhyanga (the most popular massage in Ayurveda done with warm oil), Shiroabhyanga (complete massage of the head, neck, and shoulders using Ayurvedic herbal oils. It promotes better sleep, body gets strengthened, improves concentration), Swedish massage (It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. New Italian Cafe for Chocolate Lovers in Delhi

Featured

Colocal “The Cacao Artisans” Café is a dining heaven for all Chocolate lovers. They source Cacao from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The café is spread across a huge space and is located within the Dhan Mill Compound in Chattarpur.

While there are no second thoughts to their awe-striking décor, Colocal is one of the best Insta-Worthy Cafes in Delhi I have been to. It has a fabulous ambiance and food is presented beautifully.

I travelled all the way just to experience their sumptuous Hot Chocolate.

IMG-6820

Colocal Campfire Chocolate – This usually comes 54% Dark Chocolate with a Marshmallow but being a hardcore Dark Chocolate lover I got it customized to 72% Dark Chocolate and the staff was happy to serve that way. It was hot and absolutely delicious and made my day! MUST MUST TRY!!

Garden Salad with Burrata Cheese – A fresh mix of lettuce along with Burrata Cheese and seasoned veggies dressed with beetroot lemon sauce.

BBQ Chicken Wings – These Chicken wings were fried and comes along with citrus salad.

Pulled Mutton Burger – Soft buns stuffed with shredded lamb, cucumber, cheese slice, mint yogurt, rocket lettuce and lamb jus. So delectable also comes with zig zag peri peri fries on the side with chipotle sauce.

Saffron Prawn Mezzelune Pasta – These are freshly handmade half-moon shaped pasta stuffed with prawns and cooked in creamy saffron sauce. Every bite was a delight! MUST TRY!!

Pan Seared Fish – Succulent Basa Fillet topped with caper butter sauce. It is served with mash potato and grilled vegetables. Heavy on the tummy, easily serves two people.

IMG-6821

Chocolate Fondue Platter – Fresh seasonal fruits along with Marshmallow along with chocolate fondue! Yum!

Its great-tasting, soul-satisfying, feels-good-in-your-tummy kind of food. The dishes look pretty, but they taste even better.

Maca Villas & Spa, Bali

Featured

One of the most luxurious private villas that I have stayed in Bali is Maca Villas and Spa in Seminyak. Villa is approximately 25 minutes away from Bali Internation Airport, also known as Ngurah Rai International Airport. It consisted of a spacious living and dining area with a restful master bedroom and luxurious en-suite bathroom, a private pool, outdoor sun bed. The living room opens onto a spacious timber sundeck and pool can also be accessed through the bedroom. The villa is equipped with latest gadgets including the Bose Sound Dock Digital Music System.

IMG_E6534

They have their own restaurant called Mase Kitchen and bar which serves delectable food and spirits. The resort also features a communal swimming pool. Best thing for tourists is that they provide a free shuttle service based on their schedule in the Seminyak area.

IMG_E6537

The stay was an experience in itself. They also have Soham Wellness Center which consists of spa, gym, yoga, healthy café, boutique and public swimming pool.

I stayed in both their properties in Seminyak i.e. Maca Villas and Spa & Maca Villas Umalas. Upon entering the villa there was flower and towel decoration done on the bed. I also took advantage of their awesome services like Floating Breakfast which is food presented in a large, sturdy tray which floats on water and you can enjoy the same in your private pool. Also I ordered water floats which come at an additional cost.

The staff is very courteous and efficient. Room service was spot on! If you love luxury, I highly recommend you to stay at this resort.

Staycation at WelcomHotel, ITC

Featured

Had an incredible luxury Staycation experience at WelcomHotel, Dwarka by ITC hotels in New Delhi. I stayed in their Studio Suite. The suite was huge and with a wider outside view. The suite I stayed was at 8th Floor and had a pool view. Suite is equipped with a spacious living area, workstation, bedroom and there is ample room to relax.

7

They welcomed me in the suite with Mulled Wine, Roses and Dessert Platter which was created in a personalized way. The experience was best of luxury and service standards are highly commendable. The bed was super comfortable and washroom was very big with rain shower. Products in the washroom were of premium quality.

The hotel has the highest level of hospitality. Had an extravagant Christmas brunch at Pavilion 75 which serves the best of Indian and Oriental cuisines. They had everything on the counter from Roasted Duck to Spinach & Pomegranate shots to Red Snapper. Also highly recommend the desi Makke ki Roti & Sarso ka Saag.

After stuffing myself so much, it was time to relax in my luxurious suite. Watched some series on their Flat-screen TV and munched on seasonal fruits which they serve daily in the suite. Thereafter, headed to WelcomWelness for an amazing Spa session called WelcomSignature Spa and concluded with a steamy shower. The Spa experience was amazing and it is a must to de-stress yourself.

For evening snack, I ordered their Lamb Burger and Chicken Tikka Pizza. Both were super delicious. Pizza was loaded well with chicken chunks and cheese.

Dinner was at Kebabs & Kurries, it is ITC Hotel’s award winning signature fine cuisine North Frontier Indian Specialty Restaurant. The restaurant is lit with 1100 candles and has live ghazal which makes the dinner experience very memorable. Service was top notch by Aman and Chef Jitender prepared some special dishes one of them being Paneer stuffed with veggies. This dish was lip-smacking and I highly recommend it. Also had other signature dishes like the popular Dal Bukhara. Non-vegetarian platter and Gosht Biryani was also scrumptious. I tried the dessert sampler which had Kulfi, Shahi Tukda and Gulab Jamun. Shahi Tukda being the best ever I have tasted till date.

They also have another restaurant called the Shanghai Club. As the name suggests, it specializes in Chinese cuisine and serves delightful dimsums and spring rolls.

4.jpg

Next morning, visited their huge gyming area which comprises of many equipments. After a sweaty session, ordered a variety of different dishes for breakfast in the suite, from lavish English Breakfast to Masala Dosa to Chocolate stuffed Croissants, they had everything on the menu. Highly recommend their Chicken and Cheese Sandwich which was grilled to perfection.

3.jpg

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at WelcomHotel, Dwarka and their hospitality is praiseworthy. A must hotel in case you plan for a luxury stay.

Aksari Resort, Bali

Aksari Resort, Ubud

Recently stayed in Aksari Resort located in Ubud, Bali on my trip to Indonesia last month in September.

The Resort is located in Ubud’s Kenderan Village which is only 25 minutes from central Ubud and surrounded by green valley Tegalalang rice terrace/fields.

1.JPG

I have heard that this resort is ideally for honeymooners but still thought to give it a try. The stay is an experience in itself and captures breathtaking views of the forest and rice field from resort. They have several villas on offer like Suite Pool View, One Bedroom Private Pool Villa, Suite Forest View, etc. Also they have other facilities including restaurant, bar lounge, wedding venue, spa, yoga, gym and public swimming pool.

3

I chose to live in the Royal One Bedroom Villa with Private Infinity Pool which could easily accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. This Royal One Bedroom Villa and an amazing Private Infinity Pool, large bedroom, daybed, ensuite bathroom with bathtub, rain shower, reading sofa, private gazebo, sun lounge, water sun longer, minibar and a working desk.

Upon entering the villa there was flower and towel decoration done on the bed. I also took advantage of their awesome services like Floating Breakfast which is food presented in a large, sturdy tray which floats on water and you can enjoy the same in their infinity pool. Also I ordered water floats and received huge pink duck (at an additional cost).

2

They have an all-day dining restaurant called Ankhusa. Their menu, which has an array of international food is designed to give optimal nutrition for the guest aimed to nurturing the body with an array of local cuisine signature like the roasted duck, chicken satay and fried rice. I tried chicken with cashew nuts and chicken & mushroom fettuccine creamy pasta. Their food is absolutely delicious and left me wanting for more.

If you love nature and luxury, I highly recommend you to stay at this resort.

Thailand Tourism Festival 2019

It was amazing to be a part of the opening ceremony of Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF) held at Lumphini Park in Bangkok from 23th – 27th January, 2019. It was attended by many Thai and foreign visitors. Admission to Thailand Tourism Festival 2019 is free. If you are coming by MTR, then MRT Lumphini Station is the closest.

The highlight of the festivals were great speeches by Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports.

There will be processions/parade, musical performances, delightful cuisine from all over Thailand to try. The festival starts from 12:00 – 22:00hrs, five tourism villages will display the unique and different ways of life of Thai people across the region and there will be booths where visitors can find information about Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Surat Thani, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Chachoengsao, and Udon Thani.

Central Region Zone – presents the heritage of old Siam through a traditional Thai house and the former rural way of life back in the days through demonstrations; such as, traditional garland making.

Eastern Zone – presenting new perspectives of the East under a ‘more fun’ concept through replicas of landmarks most synonymous with the region in combination with three dedicated corners for 3D photography backdrops reflecting the region’s identity.

Celebrating 8 Years of Blogging: A Journey of Passion and Consistency

Celebrating 8 years of my blog.

It’s hard to believe, but today marks 8 years since I first started my blog! Looking back, it hasn’t always been easy. Consistency can be a challenge, but what’s kept me going is the passion I have for sharing my travel and food experiences with all of you. From discovering hidden gems in far-flung corners of the world to tasting local delicacies, my blog has been a space where I can truly express my love for exploration and cuisine.

IMG_0035

A Special Insight for Fellow Instagrammers & PRs
One thing I’ve noticed lately is a bit of confusion around the term “blogging.” Many people refer to Instagram posts as blogging, but here’s the truth: Posting pictures on Instagram is not the same as blogging.

A blog is typically a website that features regularly updated content, often in the form of blog posts. These posts provide in-depth experiences, insights and stories. Blogs are written pieces that allow for deeper exploration of topics, something that goes beyond the brief nature of social media posts.

Why This Matters:

For those just starting out or looking to collaborate, it’s essential to understand the distinction:

  • Bloggers are individuals who create long-form, detailed content on their own websites.
  • Instagrammers (or social media influencers) share snapshots, stories, and visuals primarily on social platforms.

Visitors can stroll across the roof, enjoying spectacular views of Canberra’s landmarks, including the Old Parliament House, the National War Memorial and Lake Burley Griffin.

Inside, Parliament House boasts spacious, light-filled interiors, with large marble floors, elegant staircases and intricate artworks that reflect Australia’s diverse culture and history. The building was designed to encourage transparency and accessibility, which is reflected in its open design and numerous public areas.

Upon entering Parliament House, one of the first places you’ll want to visit is the Great Hall. This is the most impressive and largest space in the building, with an expansive 2,000 square-meter floor covered in Australian-made wool carpet. International Yoga Day

I always thought Yoga is another fancy word in the world of fitness which made me quite skeptical if Yoga will be of any advantage to me but since it was being promoted on a regular basis, it increased my curiosity to atleast try one session of Yoga. I am glad I did that since I felt refreshed.
