Best Italian Restaurant in Delhi

Featured

One of the most authentic Italian restaurant in Gurgaon, Artusi Ristorante is a fine dine located in GK-II and One Horizon Center at the Golf Course Road.

5

The best thing about their menu is that it is vast and also offers fresh juices including watermelon, pineapple and orange. Also they make their pastas fresh by hand and not to forget the wide range of wine and spirits they offer.

1

Came here to celebrate Mother’s Day during lunch hours. They generously served a mocktail specially made complementary for Mother’s Day and also gave a rose to my Mum.

We started our lunch with Verdure Salad, a good creamy mix of fresh vegetables finely chopped into small cubes.

Gran Pâté – In-house made chicken liver paté served with caramelized onions and served on a toasted bread.

Tortino di Porri – Cheese and leeks quiche topped with creamy mild Gorgonzola sauce. This is the best quiche I have ever had. MUST TRY!!

2

Reginette with Smoked Salmon – Broad Noodles in luxurious cream sauce topped with smoked salmon flakes. I had this broad pasta for the first time and it tasted delicious with smoked salmon.

Lamb Chops – New Zealand Lamb Chops grilled with pistachio lemon oil, served with baked potatoes, grilled eggplant and tomatoes. Lamb chops were succulent and just melted in mouth. MUST MUST TRY!!

3

Crispy Fried Pastry Cream and Gelato – In simple words, these were fried custard pockets and were absolutely delectable. Also had Tiramisu which was tasty as well.

4

Nothing on their menu has ever disappointed me and for some scrumptious Italian food, this is the place to be!

I have tried non-veg dosas in many places abroad but this was the first time I tried it with Navarasam.

1

Bhuna Chicken Dosa – Chicken cooked with spices and added while making dosa. This was good and was served with two chutneys i.e. coconut and spicy tomato.

Chicken Tikka Dosa – Delicious chicken tikka added and stuffed in dosa. Chicken was succulent and tasted well with their coconut cum peanut chutney.

Pineapple Sheera – Semoline dessert/halwa with loads of cashews and raisins. This was super delicious and just melted in mouth. MUST TRY!!

Foods you should avoid and start eating in summer season

Foods you should avoid and start eating in summer season

Summers are here and we all are bound to feel thirsty and tired. What do we do? We all like to eat and drink when we are tired and thirsty. Grabbing a piece of burger and a chilled cola is the first thing that most of us resort to. But, wait a minute – are the ones we feel that is going to quench our thirst and provide us with all the energy we need to put us back on track are the right choices we have made. It could be that our choices are going to do more harm than good.

Summers, apart from being hot, humid and reasonably troublesome, are also the months to relish some of nature’s bounty. It is also the time to entertain and get entertained. The evenings are long and what could be a perfect set up for a bar-be-cue parties. But, we need to careful as certain foods in summers are dangerous and can make us sick and especially in summers when we need to be extra cautious with what we eat and drink.

Do you actually know that summers are the months when we tend to gain weight faster than other seasons? Summers have lot of temptations – bar-be-cues, poolside food vendors and a lot more. Here are certain foods that you must avoid in summers and also listed are the foods that you must start having during the hot weather.

Must Avoid:

  • Bar-be-cue charred meat, poultry and fish

Bar-be-cued animal protein cooked over raw fire and at higher temperatures produces certain chemicals in the food that could be detrimental to human health and can even cause cancers if taken regularly. Having them regularly is in no way doing good for your health.

  • Deep fried dough and other fried stuffs

Battered and fried foods are amongst the worst sources of food filled with unhealthy trans fats. The same is with unhealthy fried dough products. These might taste good, but have unhealthy cholesterols and increases body inflammation.

  • Hot Dogs and Meat Burgers

Again it’s the processed and salty option to be blamed. Salami and ham are another bad options that should be strictly avoided.

  • Ice cones

These might help cool down for the moment, but are nothing apart from syrups made up of high fructose corn syrups and sweetened with sugar. Moreover, you never know the quality of water been used to make the ice.

  • Corn Cobs

These are not only bad for your gums, but are also high on carbs and calories. These have no vitamins, irons or other vital minerals and nutrients.

  • Watermelon with seeds

Watermelon is must to have food in summer, but not with its seeds. There is nothing to worry as the seeds of watermelon are not toxic or dangerous, but still it can cause discomfort or bloating.

Must Eat:

  • Bottle Gourd or Lauki

This super vegetable is loaded with goddesses of vitamins, folate, magnesium and calcium. It is great for weight loss and acts a super blood purifier.

  • All melons

One fruit variety that you can enjoy whole heartedly are the melons. Eat as much as you like. A good for stomach, helps in weight loss, keeps cool and the list is endless.

  • Lemon water with mint

It is natural cleanser. Just a few drops of lemon juice in minted water and you are light and summer ready as ever.

  • Cucumbers

This one fruit is must for summers. Eat them the way you like – as juice, in salads and even peeled and raw. It is loaded with fibers and will never let you have problems with constipation.

  • Curd

It is one food that can be converted to as many varieties as you can imagine – smoothies, butter milk, shakes, lassi, raita and even plain. The cooling effects are just what the body needs in summers.

  • Green Leafy Veggies

These are one food that stands good all year around. They are rich in water content and is a must for summers. Make sure that you don’t overcook them to retain the water contents.

  • Onions

Yes, you read it right. Onions too have immense cooling effects on the body. It is a great aid in protecting from sun-strokes during summers. Add them to salads or vegetables or just have them raw, enjoy it the way you like.

The most important things to consider in summer is to protect yourself and your family from food poisoning, getting dehydrated and getting hit by sun stroke. The list above mentions certain food groups that you must avoid and the ones that you must have to keep safe and enjoy your summers.

Honk Effects

World Health Organization terms noise pollution as the deadliest because of its health and social implications including hearing impairment, interference with spoken communication, cardiovascular disturbances, mental health problems, impaired cognition, negative social behaviour and sleep disturbances. “The largest portion of noise pollution in cities like Lucknow emanates from vehicles. Honking is the culprit as we zero down on further,” said Venketesh Maheshwari, an anti-noise activist.

horn-2.jpg.image.784.410

Honking is an epidemic in India. People do not think before honking that this action of theirs is causing great deal of noise pollution, affecting health of people around them in a negative way. In developed countries, honking is almost non-existent, except to warn for emergencies. In contrast, much of the honking in India is habitual and unnecessary.

horn-6.jpg.image.784.410

The amount of noise pollution from excessive horn use is on the rise in India, particularly in the metros. The problem is compounded by insufficient roads, rapidly rising automobile population and chaotic road conditions where impatient motorists compete for space with pedestrians, illegally parked vehicles and stray animals.

horn-8.jpg.image.784.410

Noise pollution has led to a fall in the age at which presbycusis, an age-related hearing loss, affects humans. About a decade ago, presbycusis affected people in their late 70s. But now, it can be usually seen in people in their 60’s. On being exposed to a sudden loud sound, like use of pressure horns, the bone goes far inside the internal ear. This stimulates the balance organ, causing vertigo. “If this happens with a pedestrian or a two-wheeler rider, he may fall on the road or meet with a fatal accident,” said Prof Ajai Singh, expert in orthopaedic trauma management at KGMU. “We get to see many such patients daily. In fact, every fourth victim of road accident coming to us is a pedestrian. They say they felt dizzy walking on the road,” he added.

horn-7.jpg.image.784.410

Personal Experience:

It’s a horrendous act! I have lived in the UK for about 4 years and there is literally no honking. Also I have seen some NRIs living there honking and it’s considered to be a very rude act in the UK. When I returned to India, I had headache for a week because of the noise level in New Delhi. Also in India people just use any kind of horns for their vehicle be it of ambulance alarm or anything loud. They feel the louder the better. I doubt if there is any kind of regulation to lower down or have a standard horn volume. When everyone on the road is blowing the horn, no one pays attention to it, I fail to understand the logic behind honking.

What I share on Google Maps & how it has helped me!

What I love sharing and how Google Maps has helped me!

4

It has been an amazing journey with Google Maps. I have been contributing for a long time as far as I do not remember when I started 😀 I love travelling to new places/countries, hotels and try new cuisines. I believe that photographs play a major role and along with my reviews, I post pictures of place, restaurant, food and everything around.5-e1554462663547.jpg

Also Google Maps has helped a lot in reaching desired destination. Also whenever I plan a vacation, I use Google Maps to check the distance from the hotel or from the Airport and see pictures to know which places are the best for sightseeing.

3

I guess it will be difficult to jot down advantages we get by using Google Maps on daily basis as these are many. From finding your destination to searching for a best hamburger restaurant to searching for a public transport to searching public toilet nearby, the list of benefits is endless!

Moti Mahal Delux

Moti Mahal is one of the most popular outlets for North Indian and Mughlai cuisine. Now they have started their fine dine restaurants as well and their menu includes Chinese and continental food as well. I visited the South Extension outlet for brunch and the ambiance is spectacular. Service is fast and fabulous.

Masala Lemonade – You will really need this if you want to consume all the delicious kebabs and curries here. Very refreshing!

Palak Patta Chaat – You need to ask them for their Continental menu. This one is absolutely delicious and refreshing. All chaat chutneys/sauces laid one a bed of crispy spinach topped with pomegranate. MUST TRY!!

Afghani Chicken – Though I took only half plate but it had 4 huge pieces of Chicken, well marinated in cream and this came on a sizzler. Chicken was succulent and simply amazing. Best Afghani Chicken I have ever had. MUST TRY!!

Fish Tikka – There were big chunks of fish cooked in tandoor. Fish tasted fresh and yum.

Boneless Butter Chicken – I have not experienced any restaurant serving “Boneless” Butter Chicken. Though I am not a fan of butter chicken but this one was different and was not on the sweeter side.

Punjabi Gosht Masala – Mutton was spiced well and cooked to perfection until juicy and tender. This went well with their huge Naan. I do not remember the name but ask for their big naans which are crispier and are topped with dry fruits.

Gajar Halwa – Just a perfect dish to end this lovely meal.

NokScoot Airline

Featured

NokScoot Airline is a Thailand-based low-cost airline. It operates international services out of Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport. NokScoot’s aircraft are operated in a two-class configuration, ScootBiz and Economy.

img-3292-1.jpg

I experienced both their business and economy class and I must say both were very comfortable flights. You may also choose economy class with extra legroom seats.

IMG_9993_edited1

Also they have a vast menu to choose from for your meals and the food served is hot and delicious. Passengers have to pay for meals in economy, either pre-paid or buy-on board.

All ScootBiz seats have in-seat power, while the airfare includes complimentary meals and a checked luggage allowance of 30 kilograms. Staff is friendly and the flight was on time. Looking forward to flying with them again.

This is in collaboration with Thailand Tourism and NokScoot Airline for the Thailand Tourism Festival 2019.
