Why You Should Try Yoga This International Yoga Day

I always thought Yoga was just another fancy word in the fitness world and I was skeptical if it would truly benefit me. But over time, seeing its promotion everywhere sparked my curiosity to try at least one Yoga session. I’m glad I did, it left me feeling refreshed, energised and completely renewed.

How Yoga Changed My Life

Over the years, practicing Yoga regularly has helped me in multiple ways:

Stay fit: Yoga has become an essential part of maintaining my overall physical health.

Gain flexibility: Daily stretching and Yoga poses increased my body’s range of motion.

Build strength: From core muscles to upper body, Yoga helped tone and strengthen my entire body.

Reduce stress: Mindful breathing and meditative practices brought calm and mental clarity.

Boost energy: Practicing Yoga consistently keeps me energetic and active throughout the day.

Aerial Yoga: Take Your Practice to the Next Level

Later, I explored Aerial Yoga, which demands greater control over the body. Unlike traditional Yoga, Aerial Yoga uses a hammock to help you go deeper into stretches and poses, enhancing full-body flexibility and strength. While it looks graceful, it is surprisingly challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Trying Aerial Yoga helped me realize that Yoga is not just an exercise, it’s a holistic practice for the mind, body and soul.

Yoga for Families: Sharing the Benefits

Seeing the positive changes in my life, I encouraged my Mom to start practicing Yoga. Yoga is for everyone- young or old, beginner or advanced and can transform your lifestyle for the better.

Embrace a Healthier Lifestyle: Steps for Change

Lifestyle can be briefly described as the way we chose to live our life. It is just not about living, it is about how we live. It is all about living a life that is healthy, active and happy. It is about spending quality time with our family, friends and loved ones that adds to the overall well-being.

Through this day the people get the opportunity of know and tackle lifestyle diseases like obesity, hypertension, depression, inactivity and unhealthy diets.

Living a healthy lifestyle is not at all difficult as we might think of. Just like anything else, it starts with a simple step. Whether it is quitting the habit of smoking or alcohol, or choosing to eat healthy and engaging in some sort of physical activity.

Noted below are some lifestyle changes that is recommended on this lifestyle awareness day for all for a better and healthier tomorrow:

  • Choose to reduce your salt intake: High salt intakes are responsible for issues related to blood pressure and in the long run towards heart diseases and strokes. Reduce the use of salt to minimum along with processed and fast foods.
  • Increase calcium intake: It is a vital mineral for bone and tooth health. It is also important for other body functions like the contractions of muscles.
  • Adopt to eating a balanced diet: Diet with the right ratio of essential elements like minerals, fats, proteins and carbohydrates are necessary for the proper functioning of all organs in the body and its development.
  • Quit smoking and reduce alcohol intake: Both these elements are of no good to us. Smoking damages our lungs and alcohol our kidneys and other vital organs of the body. The benefits are none, whereas, the damages are countless.
  • Exercise regularly and stay hydrated: Drink atleast 8 to 10 glasses of water throughout the day to keep hydrated. Water is the best medicine that we could have to stay healthy and cleansed. Exercising regularly keeps us fit and active and keeps our muscles toned and relaxed.

The world changes even before we could realize the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Take the first step forward and start living a happy and healthier life.

Over the years, Yoga has helped my body in gaining flexibility, building strength, being stress-free, energetic and remain fit. Thereafter, I also tried Aerial Yoga which demanded greater control over body. It increases full-body flexibility and strength. The hammock itself allows you to go deeper into the stretches and poses, further enhancing full-body flexibility #AerialYoga. This might look easy but was very difficult.

Realizing all the benefits, I encouraged my Mom also to start practicing Yoga. This International Yoga Day, I would like every individual to attend Yoga sessions and practice the same.
