Why You Should Try Yoga This International Yoga Day

I always thought Yoga was just another fancy word in the fitness world and I was skeptical if it would truly benefit me. But over time, seeing its promotion everywhere sparked my curiosity to try at least one Yoga session. I’m glad I did, it left me feeling refreshed, energised and completely renewed.

How Yoga Changed My Life

Over the years, practicing Yoga regularly has helped me in multiple ways:

Stay fit: Yoga has become an essential part of maintaining my overall physical health.

Gain flexibility: Daily stretching and Yoga poses increased my body’s range of motion.

Build strength: From core muscles to upper body, Yoga helped tone and strengthen my entire body.

Reduce stress: Mindful breathing and meditative practices brought calm and mental clarity.

Boost energy: Practicing Yoga consistently keeps me energetic and active throughout the day.

Aerial Yoga: Take Your Practice to the Next Level

Later, I explored Aerial Yoga, which demands greater control over the body. Unlike traditional Yoga, Aerial Yoga uses a hammock to help you go deeper into stretches and poses, enhancing full-body flexibility and strength. While it looks graceful, it is surprisingly challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Trying Aerial Yoga helped me realize that Yoga is not just an exercise, it’s a holistic practice for the mind, body and soul.

Yoga for Families: Sharing the Benefits

Seeing the positive changes in my life, I encouraged my Mom to start practicing Yoga. Yoga is for everyone- young or old, beginner or advanced and can transform your lifestyle for the better.

Why You Should Celebrate International Yoga Day

This International Yoga Day, I urge everyone to attend Yoga sessions and start practicing. Yoga is more than fitness; it promotes internal healing, immunity building, stress relief and self-care.

Some key benefits of regular Yoga practice include:

  • Improved flexibility and strength
  • Stress reduction and mental clarity
  • Boosted immunity and overall wellness
  • Better posture and body alignment
  • Self-love and mindfulness

Whether you practice traditional Yoga or try innovative styles like Aerial Yoga, the impact on your physical and mental health is transformative.

But, wait a minute – are the ones we feel that is going to quench our thirst and provide us with all the energy we need to put us back on track are the right choices we have made. It could be that our choices are going to do more harm than good.

Summers, apart from being hot, humid and reasonably troublesome, are also the months to relish some of nature’s bounty. It is also the time to entertain and get entertained. Here are certain foods that you must avoid in summers and also listed are the foods that you must start having during the hot weather.

Must Avoid:

  • Bar-be-cue charred meat, poultry and fish

  • Deep fried dough and other fried stuffs

Battered and fried foods are amongst the worst sources of food filled with unhealthy trans fats. The same is with unhealthy fried dough products. These might taste good, but have unhealthy cholesterol and increases body inflammation.

  • Hot Dogs and Meat Burgers

Again it’s the processed and salty option to be blamed. Salami and ham are another bad options that should be strictly avoided.

  • Ice cones

These might help cool down for the moment, but are nothing apart from syrups made up of high fructose corn syrups and sweetened with sugar. Moreover, you never know the quality of water been used to make the ice.

  • Corn Cobs

These are not only bad for your gums, but are also high on carbs and calories. These have no vitamins, irons or other vital minerals and nutrients.

  • Watermelon with seeds

Watermelon is must to have food in summer, but not with its seeds. There is nothing to worry as the seeds of watermelon are not toxic or dangerous, but still it can cause discomfort or bloating.

International Tea Day

Tea is not just a drink, but it holds love, culture and life. It is something that connects all of us in one single bond. In India, tea is something that starts your day, keeps you moving during the day, refreshes you in the evening and finally de-stress you after a long tiring day. Over a cup of tea we discuss everything on the globe. Relations are bonded forever over a cup of tea, the most important decisions are taken over a cup of tea and much more.

IMG_E6539

Just take some time out after you read this article over a cup of tea and imagine the hard work that has gone behind getting this charismatic drink in a cup to your hand. Take a sip and imagine the workers spending hours and month to carefully nurture the plantations, carefully plucked each leaf and done everything to give you this magical moment. Take a pick on this International Tea Day, to understand what the tea workers deliver to us, what is more than a drink to us.

It promotes better sleep, body gets strengthened, improves concentration), Swedish massage (It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing), tried the Himalayan Salt Cave (inhale the dry salt-enriched air deep down into their lungs which clean the lungs, promote better breathing, healthier skin, good sleep, improve physical fitness and overall wellness), Padabhyanga (foot care is holistic and involves massaging the pressure points with herbal and medicinal oils) and much more.
