Tea is not just a drink, but it holds love, culture and life. It is something that connects all of us in one single bond. In India, tea is something that starts your day, keeps you moving during the day, refreshes you in the evening and finally de-stress you after a long tiring day. Over a cup of tea we discuss everything on the globe. Relations are bonded forever over a cup of tea, the most important decisions are taken over a cup of tea and much more.
Just take some time out after you read this article over a cup of tea and imagine the hard work that has gone behind getting this charismatic drink in a cup to your hand. Take a sip and imagine the workers spending hours and month to carefully nurture the plantations, carefully plucked each leaf and done everything to give you this magical moment. Take a pick on this International Tea Day, to understand what the tea workers deliver to us, what is more than a drink to us.

International Tea Day is celebrated each year since its inception in 2005 on the 15th of December to bring about awareness on the issues concerning the workers in tea-estates and tea-gardens in major tea growing nations across the world like India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
On 15th of December, 2015, tea workers and growers from 11 countries of Africa and South and East Asia gathered in New Delhi and observed the first International Tea Day to commemorate the unity and integrity of the tea industry. The aim was to specified provisions and privileges protect the interest of tea workers and smaller growers. The main purpose was to provide all basic facilities and necessary benefits to those working in tea-estates and gardens. The Indian government in 2015, proposed spreading this observance via the UN Food and Agriculture Organization to make it a bigger day being observed around the world.
It is a perfect day for everyone who loves tea to show their appreciation and gratitude to all of them involved in the entire process from plantation, processing and delivering this unmatched beverage to all people globally.
Perhaps by now we know the importance and significance of this day, but here are some outstanding benefits that we get when we drink tea.
These are just a few noted benefits you derive from tea. Tea since ancient times have been known as one of the best remedies for weight loss, digestion and hypertension along with numerous other health benefits.
