Christmas Eve

Christmas, a major festival commemorating the birth of Jesus, is celebrated across the globe. Among grand cheers and bubbly beats, Christmas Eve is celebrated on 24th December, a day before Christmas day. It is a conspicuous day with significant anticipation of Christmas Day.

The sounds of Christmas carols, smell of bakes, laughter of family gathering, illumination of decorated Christmas trees, hanging mistletoes and ringing of bells bring out the feeling of festivity this time of the year.

Free yourself this Christmas from guilty food

  • Turkey could be swapped with roasted beef or ham. Oven-roasted turkey contains 135 calories per ounce whereas roasted beef contains 76 calories per ounce and roasted ham contains 30 calories per ounce.
  • 1 cup of homemade mashed potatoes, prepared with butter and whole milk, contains about 240 calories. This can be replaced with roasted sweet potatoes containing only 29 calories. If you roast them twice, it becomes crispy on the outside and super-creamy on the inside that melts in the mouth.
  • Instead of serving a bowl of stir-fried vegetable, opt for boiled ones. A colorful bowl of steam mixed vegetable is not just brimming with vitamins and minerals, it is reduced to just 45 calories whereas stir fried vegetables are at a whopping 200 calories per bowl.
  • Christmas doesn’t feel like Christmas if the meal doesn’t end with a Christmas cake. Healthify your sugarless Christmas cake with loads of dates, prunes, cranberries, raisins, currants and somea dried apricots and blueberries. These fruits substitute the craving for sugar. Add omega-3 rich walnuts to impart a delicious crunch in every bite.

So, it’s Merry Christmas! Bon Appetit.

While conveniently located near Sydney’s Central Business District, the Ovolo Hotel Woolloomooloo provides a tranquil waterfront experience being at the Wharf. Ovolo is a luxury boutique hotel, providing exquisite rooms and exceptional loft suites.

This property is both a heritage and modern luxury, the Woolloomooloo Wharf offers a wealth of historical features that are matched by cutting-edge features and modern design. All while relaxing in your roomy residence with a view of stunning Sydney Harbour.

It is in the ideal location because it is close to Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens and we visited the Sydney Opera House, stunning parklands and The Rocks.

Ovolo Woolloomooloo has incredible 5-star amenities like their own indoor swimming pool with poolside cabanas, meeting rooms and event spaces, bar and dining at Alibi, 24-hour gym and the most important part- it’s a Pet-friendly accommodation! I am surely taking my pet greyhound on my next Staycation with Ovolo 😊

We stayed in Ovolo’s Cityvoo Loft Suite. Their rooms are comfortable and spacious! The suite was loft style: downstairs was the living room with electric blinds accessing to Sydney City skyline views (plus a separate powder room, dining area and mini bar) and upstairs was the king size ensuite bedroom.

This awesome suite included continental breakfast, mini bar, in-room snacks, wifi, daily social hour, national calls, indoor pool, gym, self-laundry and all this was FREE!! They also have unlimited free candy cart at the property. This was my first experience where the suite had a Yoga Mat for guests to takeaway to their homes! They surely know how to pamper their guests.

Since it was my Mother’s Birthday, they surprised us with complementary Champagne and Cake. Could not have chosen a place to celebrate than Ovolo Hotels 😊 Their room service was speedy and spot on! Also devoured the complementary breakfast at Alibi, it is a vegan restaurant and has wide range of options. Also, their Vegan Cheeseburger tastes like the real cheeseburger, Yumm!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Staycation with Ovolo Hotel and looking forward for more of these in future 😊
